FAQ and Policies

Answers about massage practices and policies for a safe, relaxing massage experience.

Customer service practices and policies

Got questions? Get answers about our massage practices and policies. See the individual pages for deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and sports massage for service details.

01. Services offered

I am trained and licensed to offer a variety of massage techniques. My scope of practice includes stretching, hydrotherapy, and other services appropriate under my Texas license. These include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, integrated massage, chair massage, and other services. Per my scope of practices, I do not diagnose health conditions or make prescriptive recommendations.

02. Appointment booking

The fastest and easiest way to book a session is to use the online scheduler. The calendar gives a complete list of available times for massage. You are welcome to send a text message or call for an appointment.

03. Business hours of operation

Services start at 10 am daily with my last appointment starting at 8 pm. All services are by appointment however, so please visit my online scheduler for availability information.

04. Are walk-in patients accepted?

No, all sessions are by appointment only. Occasionally, we may be able to accommodate a same-day request so please feel free to call me.

05. What should I bring to my appointment?

The initial appointment begins with a brief interview to gather your medical history including any medications you may be taking. This is to ensure you have a safe and effective massage session.

06. Do you accept insurance?

No, not at this time.

07. Accepted forms of payment

Cash, credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, Venmo, and Zelle.

08. Safety measures are in place for COVID-19

I use freshly laundered linens and sanitization of all surfaces before and between client sessions. During periods of high COVID outbreaks in the community, I wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate. This includes a mask and gloves for our mutual safety.

09. What can I expect from a typical session?

At the start of each session, I complete a brief interview. This is to assess your status and session goals. I also decide which modalities will be used. You will have privacy to disrobe to your level of comfort before the massage begins. A draping sheet and blanket covers you and prevents exposure. Massage can be done through clothing but some techniques are less effective. Clothed areas do not allow use of media such as massage lotion. My company is not liable for any staining of your clothing. This applies if you choose to wear it during the session and it comes into contact with media.

10. Practices and policies about late arrivals and/or cancellations

If you are late for a massage session, I reserve the right to end the massage at the normally scheduled time. The session will be shortened accordingly. I may extend the appointment to the full length if my schedule permits.

Life happens and I know that sometimes you may be unable to keep an appointment. I ask that cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advance. I reserve the right to impose a 100% cancellation fee for no-shows or for repeated cancellations at the last minute.

11. Practices and policies governing a massage session?

I comply with Texas statutes and administrative rules governing massage therapy. In summary, these rules provide for an initial consultation prior to the first therapy session. The client will sign a document. It includes the types of therapy services to be used. It describes the parts of the body that will be massaged or avoided. The document also contains a statement that the client can ask to end the session at any time.

12. How do I file a complaint about the services?

If you are in any way dissatisfied or unhappy with the services, please speak with me directly about your concerns. Questions about my massage practices and policies are welcome. I strive for 100% customer satisfaction. I want my clients to always feel comfortable. They should know they can speak with me honestly.

Every person has the right to file a complaint regarding a massage therapist or business with the State of Texas. Complaints may be filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Massage Therapy Program, P.O. Box 12157, Austin, Texas 78711. Phone 512.539.5600 or visit the web site at www.tdlr.texas.gov.
